Those two lines from our conversation that day unexpectedly paved the way for the enduring relationship we find ourselves in now. Did you anticipate any of this when we started? It still engraves obviously in my memory of everything about us, from the day I met you in person, my efforts to comfort and earn your trust, up to the present, remains vivid in my memory. As I write this letter this afternoon, I’m overwhelmed with butterflies in my stomach, much like when I wrote a poem for you exactly a year ago today.

This past year has been filled with love, laughter, fights, and countless cherished moments. Yes, baby, we even had a big fight a couple days ago. I deeply regret any hurtful words that made you cry, and I apologize for being too hard on you during our arguments. Sometimes I wonder how you put up with me, how you tolerate all of my flaws and mood swings. But I remember that I put up with you too, not only because I love you but I do genuinely care about you since the very first day I met this anonymous secret admirer who stole my attention a lot and captured my heart. Our mutual understanding makes us even, baby. I’m truly grateful to have someone as treasured as you. Like I said, without you, I don’t believe I could experience such happiness and a stress-free relationship. Out of ten billion people, none compare to you. I can’t imagine my life without you; you inspire me to be better every day.

You know exactly my heart and soul belong to you, my sunshine. When I’m with you nothing else matters, everything else fades away, and there’s only you and I. You bring out the best in me, and I’m committed to continually improving for you. Even on my toughest days, you’re the only one on my mind. What have you done to make me so utterly captivated by you? Not that I’m complaining at all. Every single human on this earth should know you are MINE. ONLY.

You don’t need to worry about anything, and I hope you no longer have any insecurities. I’m always here for you. Only for you. Feel free to come to me, rant to me, vent to me, annoy me, spam all my chats—whatever you want to do because you are my priority. Baby, I’m your man. So treat me as I am, as you please. You’ll never bother my time, baby. Give me a pinch if I act differently to you when you need me the most. Yes, I know people change. But that doesn’t mean we can’t stay true to ourselves, right? There might be one or two things that change, but rest assured, my love for you remains unwavering. Considering our busy lives, I hope we can grow more understanding and open about it. I realize we both had moments of selfishness, missing each other too much without expressing our feelings clearly. This might happen again, so let me reiterate : I never entertain thoughts of breaking up, no matter how occupied I am. I also don’t intend to purposefully ignore you; it’s often a matter of timing, either I can’t still respond to your messages immediately or external factors affecting my mood before responding to your messages.

I have never asked you to do something for me, but this time, can I ask you to stop thinking and anticipating negative outcomes based on your past experiences, as if you know that it will happen the same? It broke my heart a little when you said that. But still, it’s my fault for saying such things when all you wanted just spend time together. I’m truly sorry, baby. Do you still want to fix everything with me when things don’t go well between us? No one can do that alone when there’s only one fighting alone. You never be the only one who’s excited here, baby. We both are always excited. We are the happiest puppy-kitty, the brightest sun and moon ever.

As we embark on another year of our journey, I look forward to creating more beautiful memories, facing challenges hand in hand, and deepening our bond even further. Thank you for being my partner, my home, my sunshine, my sanctuary, my source of happiness, my sister, my bully, my best friend, my frenemy, my oldie, my babygirl, my forever and everything in this incredible relationship. Words will never be enough to let you know what you mean to me. You are all that matters to me and you will always be. You are the only woman I love the most, more than I love myself. You are the only woman I want to spend the rest of my life with, and cherish every single moment that we spend together. I can’t wait to see you in your best-gorgeous white gown and tie the knot with you forever and living in our marriage life, my soon-to-be wife.
